Dalliances with Portraiture

I paint mostly landscapes and big skies, and the countryside where I live. But sometimes I paint people, or other things. I enjoy the challenge of producing "a good likeness" in a portrait. Please enjoy a saunter through my portraits, though because of the personal nature of a portrait, they are not for sale. Two were painted as part of the Portraits for NHS Heroes project during the early part of the Covid19 pandemic, and lockdown.

If you're interested, I do accept commissions for portraits. I work mostly from reference photographs, but would prefer a single sitting, and use of my own photographs if that is possible.

Painted as part of the #portraitsfornhsheroes project. Painting gifted to Stephanie in recognition of her part played in the Covid pandemic.
"Penny, NHS Hero" (gifted) Oil on board. Painted as part of the #portraitsfornhsheroes project during the early days of lockdown during the Covid19 pandemic. As a Sister, Penny helped transform her children's ward into a Covid ward. The painting was painted for, and given to Penny, in recognition for her part played in the Covid19 pandemic.
